Side-event by EFSAS during upcoming 37th Session of the UN Human Rights Council
The European Foundation for South Asian Studies (EFSAS) will be organizing a Side-event during the upcoming 37th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.
The title of the Side-event is: "Growing extremism in South Asia; Repercussions for the West". A group of international experts will deliberate upon growing extremism in the volatile region of South Asia and explore its repercussions for the West.
The session will be moderated by Ms. Yoana Barakova (EFSAS), and the speakers will include:
- Dr. Paul Stott – Author of books, lecturer at the University of Leicester and in the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at SOAS, University of London and Research Fellow of EFSAS
- Lt Col. Serge Stroobants – European Representative for the Institute for Economics and Peace, Lt Col. of the Belgian Armed Forces, Professor at the Royal Military Academy in Brussels and Senior Associate at the European Institute for Asian Studies
- Mr. Maarten P. Bolhuis – Researcher and lecturer at the Criminal Law and Criminology department of the VU University in Amsterdam and fellow of the Center for International Criminal Justice
- Mr. Junaid Qureshi – Writer, columnist and Director of the European Foundation for South Asian Studies (EFSAS) based in Amsterdam, an EU accredited, leading independent think tank and policy research institution
