The European Foundation for South Asian Studies (EFSAS), an EU accredited leading independent, non-profit think tank and policy research institution based in Amsterdam, held a very successful Side-event on “Growing Extremism in South Asia; Repercussions for the West”, during the 37th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. A group of international experts deliberated upon growing extremism in the volatile region of South Asia and explored its repercussions for the West. The speakers critically examined the nexus between South Asia and the West, based on the expanding phenomena of radicalization, Jihadism and terrorism.

The event was moderated by Ms. Yoana Barakova, Research Analyst EFSAS, and the speakers were Dr. Paul Stott, Lt Col. Serge Stroobants, Mr. Maarten Bolhuis and Mr. Junaid Qureshi.
