In the Media: Mr. Junaid Qureshi (EFSAS) speaking to BTVI about the Hurriyat Conference
Mr. Junaid Qureshi (Director of the European Foundation for South Asian Studies - EFSAS) explained to Business Television India (BTVI) the crackdown in Jammu & Kashmir on separatists and New Delhi's policy-shift with regard to counter-terrorism efforts. Mr. Qureshi said that the Hurriyat Conference and the separatists have been given too much unnecessary attention without a reason as the amalgam does not have representation from areas other than the Kashmir Valley. He expressed his hope that despite the tensed situation between India and Pakistan, both countries are maintaining some sort of diplomatic ties in order to move ahead on their differences.
