The issue of child soldiers in Jammu & Kashmir is a deeply troubling and contentious aspect of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir. The press and civil society have tended to put a shroud on the issue of child soldiers by relying on vague terms such as “diaper militants” and “minor militants” to describe this trend. This misleading narrative created by these trivialized terms coupled with the narrative that glorifies these underage militants results in dire consequences; There is a lack of recognition of the real issue of minors becoming combatants.
