EU Diaspora Council
EU Diaspora Council (EDC), based in Stockholm, Sweden, is a non-profit organisation active at local, national and international level, which represents and supports the interests of youth organisations and uses its collective experience to act on issues that impact, in particular, young people. EDC mission is to enhance social, leadership, entrepreneurial and communication skills among young people as well as to promote diversity through multilingualism.
The organisation is a member of the Civil Society Empowerment Programme (CSEP) Network, run by RAN - Radicalisation Awareness Network. EDC works closely with all member parties of the network in order to address terrorists’ use of the internet and social media. Their objectives focus on reducing accessibility to terrorist material online as well as empowering civil society partners to challenge effectively the terrorist narrative online.
EDC is also a member of the Swedish National Coordinator Council for safeguarding democracy against violent extremism, which strives to improve cooperation between government agencies, municipalities and organisations at national, regional and local level.
