In the Media: Ms. Barakova and Ms. Fávero (EFSAS) speaking on Victims of Terrorism at 37th Session UNHRC

Ms. Yoana Barakova (Research Analyst EFSAS) said that violence against children includes and more than often originates from the recruitment of children for the purposes of terrorism and that victims are often found in regions of impoverishment, violence and political volatility. She also stated in her speech that the Taliban increasingly uses Madrasas, to provide military training to children between the ages of 13 and 17, in order to deploy them in various military operations.

Ms. Isabela Fávero (Research Analyst EFSAS) in her speech said that for people and children in South Asia, terrorism is sadly an inevitable part of life that also significantly impacts the politics of the region. Over the last decade, Pakistan and terrorism have become synonyms in the eyes of analysts and policymakers.
