Ms. Tina Billington-Hughes

Ms. Tina Billington-Hughes is the Deputy Programme Leader on the BA (Hons) Policing Practice and BA (Hons) Criminal Investigation with Policing Studies degree programmes at De Montfort University, Leicester, England. A retired Police Detective, she has vast knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system, extensive specialist investigatory skills particularly around major and transnational organised crime and was instrumental in the development of investigative strategic methodologies including the development of multi-agency partnerships, running multi-agency operations and intelligence profiling. Having attained a first degree in Policing, a Masters Terrorism Studies and the Certificate in Terrorism Studies from the world renowned University of St Andrews, Tina is now studying for a PhD Criminology at the University of Hull examining what predisposes an individual to support transnational organized crime-terror groups. She is on the Board of Governors and Treasurer for the Society for Terrorism Research based in Massachusetts and has presented her own research at International conferences both in the UK and the United States.
